JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Chief of Staff, you will be placed in the Department for Legal Security and Security Protection. The department belongs to the municipal management administration where the municipality's overall support functions are gathered. Here, together with engaged employees, you will create sustainable processes and routines. We are looking for a confident leader who is motivated to make a difference every day and ensure good municipal administration. You will work closely with both politicians and senior officials.
Job Tasks
- Lead, develop, and create good conditions for employees to achieve set goals for the unit and the municipality.
- Be responsible for budget, personnel, and work environment.
- Be responsible for processes such as case processing and the release of public documents.
- Support the municipal director and municipal management in maintaining good and legally secure administration.
- Order and be the system owner for new procurements of various operational systems.
- Actively participate in the operational work to ensure efficiency and quality in daily tasks.
As the Chief of Staff, you will be responsible for several large municipality-wide projects such as procurement and implementation of a new case management system and the introduction of a new case process. You will have a team of eleven employees consisting of municipal secretaries, committee secretaries, investigators, clerks, system administrators, archivists, and archive assistants at your disposal.

Leadership in Åre Municipality is characterized by three areas; leadership, employer responsibility, and operational responsibility. For good leadership, all three parts must exist, and the three areas overlap in many different ways.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree in law, political science, or another relevant education or equivalent work experience that we assess as equivalent.
- Experience working in a politically governed organization and is well acquainted with applicable legislation and how the case process works or has worked with legal issues that include interpretation and application of laws, advising on legal matters, and drafting legal documents.
